Delays of Inland shipments in Mexico.

Different reasons for longer delivery times

Currently there are significant delays in Inland shipments in Mexico.

For "Single" container transports, the average transport time to and from seaports is between 72-96 hours, for "tandem" container transports between 24-72. Always assuming the availability of trucks and compliance with weight specifications. The causes are:

   - Heavy rains causing interruptions in import and export of goods,
   - Staff shortages between 10% - 15% due to the corona virus,
   - Lack of available containers in the hinterland and consequently increasing need of pick-up of empty containers from seaports,
   - Blockade of the main rail connection to the port of Lazaro Cardenas due to strikes, resulting in a switch to road transport.
